The original stars, Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are confirmed to return for the latest Hunger Games series film, Sunrise on the Reaping.
Reports indicate that beloved actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the newest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.
An Important Return to Panem
The actors are returning as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. Industry whispers indicate their cameos will probably be featured in a flash-forward sequence, given that the original saga concluded with their characters settled into family life.
This represents the sixth installment in the global Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a newly published work by author Suzanne Collins. It will be the second film set before the original story after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who directed most of the previous films in the series.
A New Era in Panem
The film's story are set 24 years before the first Hunger Games, focusing on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, who would later become Katniss's mentor, is shown as a tribute in the brutal 50th Hunger Games.
The film welcomes several prominent actors in important characters:
- Jesse Plemons is playing Plutarch Heavensbee.
- Ralph Fiennes will appear as a younger version of the menacing President Snow.
What the Stars Are Doing Now & The Film's Schedule
Separately, Jennifer Lawrence has been nominated for a Golden Globe for the film Die My Love. Josh Hutcherson is part of the successful franchise Five Nights at Freddy's 2.
Regarding the shoot:
