Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
A jet ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was found in the jet's front window, according to an official statement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed following standard protocol and all passengers, among them Pete Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson said in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the city of Brussels at the time.
This event isn't the initial instance that a US military aircraft carrying a high-ranking official has experienced technical problems.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying the US Secretary of State to the city in Germany was compelled to turn back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical fault.
