Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the loss of his two close friends.”
The news of his discharge follows the sports world offered its support for the fighter in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
